Life happens. Rawlings Chiropractic can help get you out of the physical pain.

Personal injuries can happen at work, in a traffic accident, or because of a faulty product or a faulty repair, because of a mistake during medical treatment, because you slipped and fell on a wet floor or pavement, because someone ran into you in the store or office, repetitive strain injury, sports activity, or physical altercation.

First, remember, nothing is more important than your health, especially when you start to lose it.

After a visit to the ER following an injury, assuming there are no fractures or concussion they are routinely sent home as having "whiplash", or other unnamed soft tissue condition. These physicians while wonderful at life saving measures do a poor job at best at diagnosing and treating soft tissue Neuromusculoskeletal injuries. This is where a Chiropractic Physician excels at proper diagnosis, which in turn, strengthens the attorneys demand for settlement.

Most people have one thing on their mind: their mobility! They worry: "Will I be able to drive?" "Will be able to work or finish school?" "What will happen to my insurance?" "Who is going to pay for this?" The last thing on their minds is: "Have I been damaged?"

Our concern is to give you the care you need, if you need it. If we cannot help you, we will refer you to a specialist who can.

Second, remember, once you settle your case, you may lose the right to have the insurance company pay for treatment if you need it.

A good rule of thumb is to be informed of your legal rights and health care options, then make a decision.

Acceleration/deceleration injuries to the spinal column and neck are most common, but not the only injury. Sprains and strains are referred to as soft tissue injuries including muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Although, soft tissue injuries, for the most part are invisible on x-rays and often overlooked; they can cause severe debilitating pain after an injury or accident. Left without proper treatment the injured muscles and other soft tissues can end up causing chronic pain for months...even years.

Injured muscles heal with scar tissue in a way that leaves them weaker, less elastic, and prone to re-injury and pain. Active and passive therapies administered by your chiropractic physician help to restore muscular strength, flexibility, and normal function by correcting or "aligning" the scar tissue. This will allow the soft tissue to heal healthier with less chance of future pain and dysfunction.

Even in minor collisions, slips or falls, the body is stressed!

It is well documented that even in minor collisions, as little as five miles per hour, the body is placed under tremendous strain. Even though there appears to be little damage at low speeds; data indicates that injury is more common with little or no structural damage occurring to vehicles. Likewise, falls and slips, can cause long term injury even if the symptoms are not immediately apparent.

If you have been involved in an accident or injured, you should make an appointment, ASAP, for a Chiropractic examination.

Your Health and Future Financial Condition Depends on prompt Action!

Sad experience has taught us that the longer you wait the more aggravated
and permanent your injuries can become.

Early treatment will help reduce the inflammation and restore proper joint function which helps reduce the long term problems. Remember that the spine supports the central nervous system and any damage to it could have serious long lasting effects throughout your whole body, including internal organs. This may exhibit as a sickness / disease, when in fact the organs are not sufficiently functionally supported by the injured central nervous system.

For some, pain and injuries are immediately obvious. Yet, many involved in an accident / injury may start experiencing symptoms later, in days or months. After recovering from the immediate shock of the incident, you may not feel like your normal self.

A few of the factors that affect the severity of injuries can be a surprise collision, having the head turned at impact, out-of-position occupant, female gender, significantly larger (>50%) striking vehicle, advanced age, and significant pre-existing neck/back pain or headaches. There may be increasing fatigue, difficulty sleeping, memory loss, irritability, ringing in the ears, difficulty concentration, tension spasm, increasing pains, numbness and tingling, dizziness, blurred vision, headaches, and arthritis. The damage from spinal nerve stress may take months or even years to surface, not to mention post-traumatic osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis can ruin your posture. Osteoarthritis can cause the discs in your spine to degenerate and create scarring, leading to chronic stiffness and the inability to move properly.

Or, what is worse, the body attempts to adapt and symptoms can appear anywhere from the instant the injury occurred until weeks or even months later. If left untreated, your injuries could affect you for the rest of your life.

Pain is an indicator that a problem exists within our body. Even soreness can indicate injuries of consequence. Without pain, our bodies could not tell us that there is an injury and that something is wrong. Most minor to moderate injuries are overlooked by the patient, the hospital, and even the patient's family medical provider due to the lack of initial pain. Several months after the injury, when the patient continues to have pain or it worsens, most people begin to realize that the injury they sustained is worse than they imagined.

Every injury is different. We start with a complete history of the incident and your past health. Then we do a thorough exam before a diagnosis is made and treatment is begun. The Chiropractor will provide a report of findings, the complete and thorough documentation necessary for injuries sustained - even small tissue injuries that often go unnoticed until months or even years later.

Most medical providers are not trained in the detection of these hidden Neuromusculoskeletal injuries...
If you have been injured, you need a Chiropractic doctor who is trained in the biomechanics of the human body; someone who treats these injuries every day. In addition, x-rays can be taken to find out if there has been any structural damage. In our office, we evaluate your condition and make any appropriate referrals to other health care providers, if needed.
Our primary responsibility is giving you the care, if you need it; and submitting the required medical reports to your lawyer and insurance company so your rights are protected.

If you have an attorney, we will work closely with the firm. If you need a referral to an attorney, our office can provide a list of reputable personal injury attorneys that our office has worked with in the past.

Again -
It is important to receive immediate exam and appropriate treatment.

Injury or sprain/strain may seem mild at first. But, you need to take care of it before it puts you out of work and causes more pain and medical costs.

Our staff will gladly answer questions and give you additional information.
